The Golden Eagles booted the ball around and couldn’t make up for it at the plate as Bellefonte scored a 7-4 victory on Thursday.

According to a story in The Tribune-Democrat, Somerset had seven errors and the loss ended the season.

The Golden Eagles were just one of the teams in action on Thursday, which featured a full slate of games from around the region.

Elsewhere, the Portage baseball team didn’t fare much better in meeting the Bishop McCort baseball team than the football team had in the fall.

Portage closed the gap this time around, falling 4-2 at Point Stadium. A little earlier this season, Bishop McCort cruised to a 16-2 victory over Portage.
