QZ93 Sports announces fall football schedule

Congratulations to the Conemaugh Township Indians, the District 5 Class A champions after a thrilling victory over Windber on Friday night!

We told you it was going to be a good one, and we weren’t wrong. It came down to Scott Thomas’ field goal in the waning seconds to give the Indians the title, 21-20.

Be sure to keep an eye on this page, as we let you know about any future broadcasts involving the Indians, who get a week off before facing the District 7 (WPIAL) champion.

Trojans come up short in softball championship game

The Johnstown Trojans couldn’t match the Bellefonte Lady Raiders, falling 6-2 in the District 6 Class AAA championship game in Hollidaysburg on Thursday.

LaRod NFL bound with Arizona

Cougars roar at Boswell Jaycees Tournament

The North Star baseball team needed some heroics to escape in a first round win, then doubled-up Conemaugh Township in winning the 15th Boswell Jaycees Baseball Tournament on Saturday in Ferrellton.

The championship was just one of four games played at the tournament, which features top baseball teams from around the area. More…

Pitt’s Blue-Gold game gives area players the spotlight

The Pitt Panthers football team has a host of local talent on its roster and some of those guys figured prominently in Saturday’s Blue-Gold game.

Richland graduate Marco Pecora intercepted a pass for the Pitt defense, which routed the offense. Greater Johnstown grauduate Antwuan Reed also factored in the scoring, though not for the reason he wanted. More…

Pitt suspensions good and bad for area players

Reports from Pittsburgh are that the Pitt Panthers football team suspended three players for the duration of spring drills, which finish on Saturday with the annual Blue-Gold game.

On the bad side, one of the suspended players is reportedly Bishop McCort grad Wayne Jones. But another suspension could be a good chance for Johnstown graduate Antwuan Reed. More…

George Roberts has been a strong player for the Forest Hills Rangers for a while now, and he proved his worth again on Tuesday.
