Co-head coaches laid a solid foundation

In District 5, Football, Rockwood, Turkeyfoot Valley, WestPAC on June 29, 2009 at 11:25 pm

In that time, the roster expanded from its original size of 16, the team made three playoff appearances and the groundwork has been laid for successful seasons to come. Now, the young coaches are moving on, leaving the reins to longtime assistant Jerry Kaizen.

But Rullo and Hale aren’t going far, and they certainly won’t be without a close eye on the program they developed. More…

Rockwood softball set to soar

In Rockwood, Softball, WestPAC on March 21, 2009 at 6:00 am

The Rockwood softball team finished a game shy of the playoffs last season, finishing with an 8-10 record. But looking beyond the surface, a striking statistic stands out. The Rockets lost six games by a single run.

Sacksen finished 18th in the modern pentathalon during the Beijing Olympics, the best of any American. He’s a 2004 graduate of Rockwood High School, and wrote a great series of articles for local newspapers during his time in China.
