United senior earns third in boys javelin

Tyler Capitosti fell short of his qualifying standard and finished third in the javelin at this year’s PIAA championships after a toss of 185 feet on Friday. He had qualified at 204 feet.

Berlin finished on the outside looking in in the 4×800-meter relay preliminaries, so there will be no trip to the finals for the Mountaineers. Meanwhile, Bishop McCort senior Jim Spisak won his heat of the 1,600 and will race in the finals today.
