The Tribune-Democrat and Somerset Daily American each had profiles this morning of new Shade head football coach Gene Boley.

The Associated Press’ All-State girls basketball team has two juniors from WestPAC schools on its second-team.

Conemaugh Valley’s Taylor Gruss and Ferndale’s Brittany Eisenhuth each were named to the Class A second-team as four players from The Tribune-Democrat’s coverage area were selected. More…

Fisher ready to build at Conemaugh Valley

Jim Fisher knows the challenges that lay ahead as football coach at Conemaugh Valley High School and he’s embracing them.

Fisher, a 38-year-old Vinco resident, was named the successor to Tom Marshall, who resigned following the 2008 Blue Jays campaign.

That opened the door for the 1988 Portage graduate and 1992 graduate of Pitt-Johnstown. More…
