Somerset native makes it pro

Not too long ago, QZ93 Sports went by a different name: CDM Sports. The “M” in that name stood for Bob McElligott, who helped form the network alongside Jack Dickey and the late Nathan Codispoti.

Now it is a pleasure to see that Bob continues to advance in his career, moving up from Syracuse of the AHL to join the broadcast team for Columbus in the NHL.

Bob will be the pre- and post-game radio host, as well as handle some in-game work for the Blue Jackets, the parent of Syracuse, where Bob had been for 10 years.

We wish all the best to Bob, a Somerset native, in his new position and continue to be impressed by his work across a variety of platforms. Best of luck to you, Bob!

Now, here’s to the Crunch hiring McElligott’s former assistant, Joe Babik, to be their next radio voice. Babik has worked with CDM Sports and at stops around minor league hockey and baseball, and would be a perfect fit for the Crunch. Here’s to Joe getting a deserved opportunity!
