PIAA tables decision on football classes

In Football, PIAA on May 21, 2009 at 10:44 am

The PIAA has tabled its vote on expanding football to six classifications until July.

The WPIAL president suggested tabling the vote in order to allow more time for a compromise to be reached according to reports out of Chambersburg.

The WPIAL has been highly outspoken against the PIAA’s idea and has gone so far as to say that the league will pull its teams out of the state playoffs if the six classifications idea passes.

Elsewhere, the basketball playoffs are staying at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center for the next three years, depite efforts to return them to Hershey.
