Berlin scores major victory

In Berlin, District 5, Meyersdale, Softball on May 21, 2009 at 9:59 am

The Berlin Lady Mountaineers scored one of the biggest wins in program history on Wednesday, topping Meyersdale 10-0 in five innings for the program’s first playoff victory.

Freshman Megan DeMartino grabbed headlines for her 11-strikeout performance. She also doubled in three runs during the fifth inning.

Top-seeded Berlin faces No. 5 Southern Fulton in the Class A semifinals on Tuesday.
