Football for Hawkins is reality

In Bishop McCort, College Sports, Football on May 11, 2009 at 9:34 am

As you’ve read about before in this space, Bishop McCort graduate Andrew Hawkins is ready to make his reality TV debut on the Spike Network on May 18 at 10 p.m.

The former Toledo wide receiver and defensive back is one of the contestants on Michael Irvin’s “4th and Long,” giving former football stars a chance to make the training camp roster of the Dallas Cowboys.

Hawkins talked to The Tribune-Democrat about the experience and had some great thoughts on the whole experience.

Hawkins described the typical day during the contest and noted that there were no cell phones, no iPods and barely any television allowed. It was all football, all the time.

We’re not sure how Hawkins did on the show, since nobody’s allowed to talk about it, but here’s to hoping he shined!
