In AAABA, Baseball on April 9, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Nick Adenhart, who led Baltimore to a AAABA championship over Delweld in 2003, was one of three people killed after a van struck the sports car he was in.

Adenhart was a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels.

The Associated Press reports that a van ran a red light and hit the sports car that 22-year-old rookie Adenhart and three others were in, shortly after Adenhart pitched six scoreless innings against Oakland. The car then hit a light pole. The driver of the van was arrested a short while later.

Police say the accident occured just before 12:30 a.m. this morning in Anaheim.
