Ex-Trojan Reed on the right path

In College Sports, District 6, Football, Greater Johnstown on March 27, 2009 at 12:17 am

Antwuan Reed had a sterling career as a football star at Greater Johnstown. Now, the Trojans’ pipeline with Pitt has the Panthers counting on the sophomore to be a force in the coming year.

Freelance writer Dale Grdnic talked to Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt about Reed for Friday’s editions of the Tribune-Democrat.

“We went up there to recruit Scott Corson two years ago, and their coach told us about a sophomore who was as good an athlete as anybody he had coached,” Wannstedt said.

Pitt doesn’t throw a lot of youngsters on the field, so it was exciting to see Reed earn time on the field during his freshman year, starting with a Thursday night game at South Florida. Best of luck to Reed as his career with the Panthers continues.
