Meyersdale’s connection to Pitt

In Basketball, College Sports, Meyersdale on March 23, 2009 at 8:55 am

The No. 4 seed Pitt women’s basketball team is in Seattle today for a second round game against No. 12 seed Gonzaga in the NCAA women’s tournament.

Along for the ride is a Somerset County native that had a distinguished basketball career in her own right. Former Meyersdale sharpshooter Jen Tuscano is an analyst for the Pitt women’s radio broadcasts.

Tuscano works alongside Greg Linnelli along the network, and also serves as an academic acounselor for the women’s team. Tuscano is one of the leading scorers in Somerset County history and had a distinguished career as a member of Pitt-Johnstown’s women’s basketbal team.

Tuscano also served as athletic director at Meyersdale before moving on to her role with the Panthers. We wish her and the rest of the Panthers much success tonight in their 9:30 p.m. tipoff, and throughout the rest of the women’s tournament.
