LaRod makes impact in his Pro Day

In College Sports, Football, Greater Johnstown on March 18, 2009 at 12:29 am

Former Greater Johnstown standout LaRod Stephens-Howling shined in his work for NFL scouts at Pitt’s Pro Day, according to freelance writer Dale Grdnic, who covers Pitt for The Tribune-Democrat.

Stephens-Howling ran a 4.41 40-yard dash and bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times, according to the story in Wednesday’s Tribune-Democrat. Stephens-Howling was one of about a dozen Panthers to work out for scouts, but didn’t get to do as much as he wanted after tweaking a hamstring.

Here’s to wishing Stephens-Howling all the best in the future. He was a class act at Johnstown and seems to still be a class act. Good things come to good people, and I trust that should hold true for LaRod.
